An upmarket publication that provides an overview of SAEON for the two-year period from April 2004 to March this year – a critical period in the Network’s development - is due to be published this month.

SAEON has grown organically and exponentially in the period under review. Two new nodes were established - the SAEON Ndlovu Node for the savannah biome, and the SAEON Elwandle Node for the coastal-inshore system.

The publication will also cover the three pillars of SAEON’s work as described in its mandate – observation, information and education – which were successfully established, as well as the inaugural SAEON Summit, held in March 2006, which provided an overview of the current state of observation systems and technology.
