The Council for Geoscience (CGS) has become the latest organisation to sign an accession agreement with SAEON to collaborate in research projects, share data and cooperate in other research and development initiatives.
The CEO of CGS, Mr Thibedi Ramontja, signed the agreement on behalf of his organisation.
By signing the agreement, the CGS has joined an array of SAEON partners: ACCESS, CSIR, DEAT (MCM), Mintek, SAIAB, SANBI, SANCOR, SANParks, University of Cape Town, University of Pretoria and University of Stellenbosch.
Dr Amani Saidi, SAEON’s Stakeholder Relations Manager who facilitated the agreement with Ms Mpumi Msezane, Manager of the Environmental Geoscience Unit at the CGS, called on scientists associated with SAEON to seize the opportunity to link up with their counterparts in the CGS.
“The Stakeholder Relations desk is ready to facilitate discussions between SAEON and CGS scientists,” he said.
The preparatory work to have accession agreements signed with the Agriculture Research Council and the University of Limpopo is at an advanced stage.
