SAEON in the Media

A news release calling for volunteers to assist with the SAEON Ndlovu Node’s mopane survey was distributed to national and regional media. The news release received coverage in a wide range of media from print to online and broadcast media.

PRINT: Articles appeared in Mooiloop , Go, Citizen, Beeld, Burger (Oos Kaap), Saturday Star, Daily Sun, Pretoria News, Kruger Park Times, Haenertsburg News, Bay Watch (Richards Bay Local paper), Lowvelder, Vereeniging Ster, Vanderbijlpark Ster and Record.

ONLINE: Articles were published on Beeld Online, News 24 Online, and the Mooiloop and Go websites. An article also appeared in SAEON’s electronic newsletter.

BROADCAST: A radio interview was held with Radio Pretoria, and the news release was aired on Radio Jacaranda (News).

The Ndlovu Node has been approached by Project Dendro to film the survey, and 50/50 has expressed interest in filming the project as well.

In addition, an article entitled “The case for long term electronic data archiving” by Avinash Chuntharpursat, SAEON’s Information Management Scientist, was published in Position IT.
