- An article titled "South Africa organises first national GCOS science day" was published on the news page of the World Meteorological Organization website on 24 September 2015.
- An article on the SAEON/Wits field school at Cathedral Peak, "Field school introduces students to environmental monitoring", was published in the October 2015 edition of GetSETgo, the online newsletter of the South African Agency of Science and Technology Advancement.

SAEON’s Arid Lands Node recently donated two weather stations to schools in the Kimberley area, which resulted in an article in the October 2015 edition of GetSETgo: "Three schools in Kimberley will always know from where the wind blows!"

Two more SAEON education outreach projects received coverage in GetSETgo. An article, "Street science", recounts how postdocs from SAEON and the University of Cape Town set up a street science stand at the Langa Open Streets Festival in Cape Town and invited passers-by to ask questions.
- The fourth article in GetSETgo reports on how young water ambassadors used miniSASS to monitor river health as part of the education outreach programme of SAEON’s Arid Lands Node.
