An article titled Measuring total evaporation in SAEON’s Cathedral Peak research catchments was reprinted on page 19 of the May 2019 edition of Grassroots, a bulletin of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa. The article first appeared in SAEON eNews of February 2019.

An article titled Let us heal our land, written by natural resources economist James Blignaut, was published in Rustenburg Herald of May 31. The article mentions that James is an honorary research partner of SAEON.

The SA Agulhas II research vessel’s annual Marion and Prince Edward islands relief voyage received coverage in several media outlets, all mentioning that the research team comprised participants from the then Department of Environmental Affairs, SAEON, the SA Weather Service and the University of Cape Town, including:

• SA at forefront of ocean scientific research, Cape Times, May 17;
• Agulhas II returns from Marion Island Relief voyage, DefenceWeb, May 16; and
• Environmental Affairs on arrival of SA Agulhas II, Africa Newswire, May 15.
